CD Player(SOULNOTE 10-year Anniversary Model)
PLATINUM SILVER / BLACK
Analog balanced output
The C-1 features two Texas Instruments PCM1792A 24-bit advanced segment, audio stereo DACs to keep the left and right channels completely separate. SOULNOTE's traditional I/V converter with highly precise resistors and a wideband, high-speed non-NFB fully discrete amplifier output the D/A converters' balanced current output as balanced signals. The perfectly symmetric and ideally balanced circuit construction provides a delicate and majestic dynamic range.
Dedicated digital direct output
The high-speed driver outputs 44.1 kHz sampling frequency S/P DIF signals from the decoder with ample allowance to eliminate device performance delays and distortion of the output waveform. In addition to the normal output, it also includes dedicated direct outputs for SOULNOTE products. Constructed without a transformer, the direct output transmits pure square wave signals that do not contribute any unnecessary noise to the receiving circuitry. (Can only connect with other SOULNOTE products.)
Buffering circuits that read at double speed
The buffering circuits in the C-1 read at twice normal speed. This counteracts the jitter components contained on CDs and phase noise components from servo systems to pass every piece of information encoded on CDs to the output circuits in the subsequent stage.
180 VA toroidal power supply transformer
This CD player incorporates an overwhelmingly powerful 180 VA toroidal power supply transformer. With a capacity similar to a power amplifier, the bifilar wound, large capacity toroidal transformer with independent positive and negative windings supplies power to the high-speed rectifier smoothing circuits in the analog output circuits. The digital circuits feature a unique negative feedback power supply with constant voltage. The high-speed, high-capacity circuit design is not affected by noise generated in high frequency clocks, data, motors, or other components and does not rely on inductance − a commonly employed measure against unnecessary radiation.
Microprocessor stop function
By switching OFF the display during CD playback and when no playback functions like repeat are active, microprocessor activity is stopped as it is a source of noise. This enables the C-1 to provide the best possible playback sound quality.
Direct mechanical grounding construction
Spikes connect to the bottom of the transformer's center of gravity to directly expel harmful vibrations outside the unit
without interfering with the unit housing itself.
This achieves both supremely vibrant musical expression and a high S/N.
Symmetrical housing with resonance control
The housing's symmetrical construction increases rigidity balance while controlling the sharpness of resonance (Q factor).
This eliminates the usual sensation of sound containment in highly rigid systems and creates the high resolution, expansive SOULNOTE sound.
The newly developed, heavyweight aluminum front panel design also helps control resonance.
Metallic insulators as standard equipment (when under load)
Though plastic insulators are the conventional standard, we now use metallic insulators since they promote higher sound quality.

Notes on this product
Temperature settings
The circuit current in SOULNOTE products relies on solutions with the highest emphasis on sound quality and safety. Functionality and sound quality generally improve when the transistors operate at higher temperature.。
Anti-vibration housing
SOULNOTE products place the highest emphasis on sound quality, so the top cover, chassis, and other components do not employ vibration isolation.
Regarding use of electronic equipment cleaners and contact rejuvenation products on SOULNOTE products
Commercially available electronic equipment cleaners and contact rejuvenation products could damage the resin components of SOULNOTE AC inlets. Do not use these types of chemical products on SOULNOTE equipment.
